THE BAND
Bagpipers who Rock!
“These are my boys!” exclaimed Sir PaulMcCartney after rocking out to a Chilli performance.
“Awesome!” said film star Ewen McGregor after he guested on drums with the Chillis
“Gotta get me some of that Red Hot Chilli Pipers! I WANT some!” tweeted actor Samuel Jackson after seeing the band perform on NBC in the summer of 2012
Bagpipes with attitude. Drums with a Scottish accent. A blazing rock band and show so hot, it carries its own health warning!
It’s Bagpipes. It’s Rock. It’s Bagrock. AC/DC meets the poet Robert Burns. Where rock anthems sit comfortably alongside the great tunes from the glens and the mountains of Scotland.
It’s The Red Hot Chilli PIPERS – (NOT the Peppers!) -- a 9-piece ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboards, and drummers -- who have been rocking the world from New York to Beijing to Melbourne and everywhere in between with musicianship of the highest order and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless. The band has four music degrees from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and all the pipers and drummers have played at the top level in bagpiping.
Since they walked away with the top prize on the primetime TV talent show, “When Will I Be Famous” in the U.K. in 2007, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers haven't stopped for a breath, other than to inflate their bagpipes! Formed in 2002, The Chillis have fast become a global phenomenon, taking their signature 'Bagrock' sound to the masses with their unique fusion of rocked up Bagpipes and clever covers of popular songs from all genres. Their trademarked sound is a unique fusion of traditional pipe tunes – like “The Flowers of Scotland”, “The Hills of Argyll”, and “Amazing Grace” (done Chilli-style, of course!) -- and contemporary anthems like Queen’s “We Will Rock You”, “Clocks” by Coldplay, “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams, and a fantastic rock medley of “Deep Purple”, “Smoke on the Water”, and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”.

Independent Irish singer and guitarist Síomha (pronounced She-vah) dances the line between folk, jazz and neo-soul effortlessly taking audiences on an unexpected and unforgettable journey with her soulful melodies. Her debut album ‘Infinite Space’, described by The Irish Times as “a seriously accomplished and self-confident debut”, is a collection of songs in both Irish and English. A kind of cosmic, folk-informed, jazz-tinged, post-pop - it was produced by Grammy-nominated Tyler Duncan and features an all-star lineup of musicians including Joe Dart (Vulfpeck), Louis Cato (Bobby McFerrin/ Snarky Puppy), Martin Atkinson Borrull (Toucan) and violinist Jeremy Kittel (Bela Fleck/ Chris Thile). Síomha’s voice is full of raw heartfelt experience. When listening to her, audiences are instantly moved to feel on the deepest level and come out more intimately connected to their own worlds.
Coming from a family steeped in music, Síomha grew up on a diet of musical greats with the sounds of jazz, trad, folk and soul creeping in and leaving an indelible mark on her musical tastes and influences. She started playing the guitar at age 10 but it was later in her teens while attending high school in the south of France that she first took up jazz guitar after a chance encounter led to her learning from an Italian gypsy jazz player who taught her the manouche jazz style. The chords and sounds of jazz fascinated and inspired Síomha and she began to craft her own songs.
The next few years saw her travelling, with music as her compass, soaking up the sounds of each place she travelled and further honing her craft. In late 2016, having traversed America, Canada and Mexico, she felt an innate draw to return to her home shores and a phenomenal few years have followed. Síomha has been a regular guest of folk legend Paul Brady and has performed at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival and Fête de la Musique at Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris. In 2018, she was invited to tour with the celebrated contemporary American-Irish group the olllam and instantly formed a bond with founding member Tyler Duncan. In 2019, Síomha and her long-term creative collaborator Martin Atkinson Borrull began recording her debut album in Michigan, USA with Tyler as producer. Síomha was selected as an Official Showcase Artist at Folk Alliance International 2023 in Kansas City, MI and she was awarded The Music Network Performance Residency at Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris. Síomha has recorded some of her songs with The RTÉ Concert Orchestra, arranged and conducted by Cormac McCarthy. These recordings appear on a new EP titled ‘Infinite Space Reimagined’, a follow-up to her ambitious debut album. The EP will also feature a track with Metropole Orkest, the world’s leading pop and jazz orchestra who have previously collaborated with Ella Fitzgerald, Bono, Snarky Puppy, Jacob Collier and Laura Mvula.
Síomha is an artist full of heart and her music defies conventional genres. The influences of her musical background, her travels and her musical explorations are audible in the music she creates. Always proud of her Irish heritage, she performs her songs in English and Irish. She is an artist at the forefront of the recent cultural revival of the Irish language, using the language in a context that hasn’t been seen before. The beautiful landscape and rugged nature of her native West of Ireland are a huge source of inspiration for this proud Co. Clare artist leading her to create a soulful and unique style of music that enthrals anyone who hears it.

Elias Alexander is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter whose work swells from the intersection of traditional music, electronic production, and songwriting. Using electronics, he alchemizes tradition into something healing, deeply personal, and of this moment.
Wielding bagpipes, fiddle, guitar, whistles, and keyboards on stage while deftly looping and sampling to build energy, Elias weaves together melodies from the Scottish and American traditions, with catchy beats, and original songs that discuss themes of alienation, belonging, and queerness.
Elias is one of those rare performers who achieves full flight using the power of electronics with live instruments, drawing comparisons to FKJ, Fred again., and Dirtwire, and taking audiences on a mind-blowing journey that elicits everything from wild dancing to tears. He currently tours as the pipes and whistle player with Scottish legends Old Blind Dogs in North America.
Elias’s latest project, Ramblxr, arose out of the early lockdowns of 2020, when he found himself blending the traditional acoustic music of his youth with house, disco, hip-hop, and lo-fi sounds. Emerging with his new solo electronic show in hand in 2021, he has taken festival stages by storm, with standout performances at Oregon Country Fair, BlissFest, Sisters Folk Fest, Portland Pride, Bellingham Folk Festival, and many others.
Elias achieved international attention in Feb. 2024 when his song FIDDLE DISCO! went viral on Instagram, leading to articles in The National Newspaper Scotland and BNN News, and radio play on BBC Scotland.

A weather forecast from the past; a mysterious Viking invasion; and a visit to the mythical Isle of Hy-Brasil — these are just some of the stories brought to life in Irish songwriter Enda Reilly’s music. With intricate guitar-playing, vocal prowess and a cross-cultural sensibility, Reilly brings the essence of Ireland to American audiences. His latest album, Hy-Brasil, features
newly-penned folk songs sung in both English and Irish Gaelic. “There’s a haunting magic at work here,” raves Folkwords Magazine, and the artistic director of the Milwaukee Irish Festival calls Reilly, “a champion of the Gaelic language.” From the ephemeral lakes of a Yeats’ poem to the 16th century ship where Grace O'Malley ruled as the “pirate queen,” Reilly brings the mythic down to earth.
When not singing his own songs, Reilly keeps the past moving forward with timeless traditional ballads. “The older songs connect you to past generations,” he says. “You can feel the continuity
— 100s of years evaporate when you bring your own voice to these time-worn tunes.” His original songs are also in conversation with the past. “Hy-Brasil” is a journey to the mythological island between Ireland and the US, an island found in old legends but not on a modern map. “In a sense my consciousness lies somewhere between these two countries so maybe I’m looking to find my own Hy-Brasil,” Reilly muses. “Whiskey Fire” is a new folk song about the Great Fire of Dublin on June 18, 1875 where heroic firemen battled bravely while others foolishly drank alcohol off the street.
Sometimes music skips a generation. Reilly’s parents came from farming families that kept hay for the cattle and cut turf from the bog to stay warm in the winters. They moved from the west of Ireland to Tallaght, a suburb of Dublin, to raise their family. Reilly attended an Irish language school where he learned to play tin whistle and sing Gaelic songs in regional dialects from across the country. He fell particularly hard for the old ballads, writing lyrics out by hand in his trusty A4 notebook. In the year before his death, Reilly’s father bought him his first guitar. Reilly took to writing cathartic, philosophical songs to try and make sense of his experience. After years of penning songs, making records and topping the Irish charts — Reilly is still trying to make sense of the world by turning story into song.
Not only a songmaker and touring artist, Reilly is also an enthusiastic educator and ambassador of Irish culture. Now based in Michigan, he has taught workshops at countless libraries across the Midwest and can often be found telling stories and sharing songs on many an Irish festival’s Heritage Stage. Reilly loves to provide the cultural context for the music he plays through spellbinding stories and folkloric history. The director of the Paw Paw Library describes Reilly’s Songs and Stories of Ireland program as “the perfect combination of music, personal storytelling, and Irish history,” and director of the Roseville Library says it “was one of our
best-attended programs in the past year, and — no exaggeration — patrons were raving about it.” Reilly also offers an educational concert called To Waters and the Wild that sets W.B. Yeats’ poems to music, and a holiday program called Songs of Irish Christmas.
Reilly has been well-celebrated as a songwriter. Winner of the prestigious Irish Music Right Organization’s Songwriting Competition, he co-wrote “All Along The Wild Atlantic Way” with Aoife Scott which topped the Irish charts. Reilly has been featured in two documentary films: “No Country For Old Men” (about poet W.B. Yeats) and “This Little Light of Mine” (about the Women’s Traveller Group from Labre Park). His song “Donal Ná Fág” will be in an Irish animated movie called Tea with the Dead. His arrangement of REMs “Nightswimming” has garnered over 72k views on YouTube. Reilly has performed at the Milwaukee Irish Fest (Milwaukee, WI), Trinity House Theater (Livonia, MI), National Concert Hall (Dublin, IRE), National Library of Ireland (Dublin, IRE), and Royal Philharmonic (Liverpool, UK). He represented Ireland in the Nós Úr Minority Languages Song Contest.

On The Lash formed in early 2021, with their very first set of shows being a tour through PA and DE. Since then, OTL has been busy performing at festivals and concert venues across the US, as well as sharing their unique background and experience in the genre through educational workshops. Some notable festivals include the KVMR Celtic Fest in Grass Valley, CA; the Yachats
Celtic Fest in Yachats, OR; the Longs Peak Highland Fest in Estes Park, CO; and the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, PA. Their recorded work includes the 2022 single Dog in the Distance, with a five song performance EP to be released in 2024.
In honor of Irish traditional music, On The Lash creates timeless sounds through original voices. With new takes on classic songs and original constructions of established standards, OTL aims to explore the inherent energy and versatility of the genre. This compact ensemble delivers a high caliber performance worthy of the big stage.
